Do you remember your first bike? Most of us probably do! It was also likely one of the main reasons you spent all day outside instead of in front of the TV! Riding a bike is more than just fun, though — it helps kids stay active, build confidence, and create the kind of summer memories every child deserves. The CDC recommends that kids get at least 60 minutes of physical activity each day, and biking is one way to help them move their bodies, strengthen their hearts and muscles, and spend more time outside.
That being said, bikes are expensive and inaccessible for many people. Because of this, we are hosting a bike drive where generous sponsors can purchase a bike for a child whose family wouldn’t be able to afford one otherwise; and local families can apply to receive one.
Every child deserves the joy of riding a bike — but not every family can afford one.
For many of us, some of our favorite childhood memories involve riding a bicycle. Spending time in the sunshine, racing your friends with the wind in your hair, and maybe getting a little too brave while trying to ride with no hands! 😉
However, owning a bike has become a luxury and many families are unable to afford one for their child. Each year, hundreds of children ask us for bikes. We decided to listen, but we NEED your help!
Families who are unable to afford a bicycle for their child have applied with us, sharing details about their child’s age, height, weight, and other needs. From there, we selected a specific bike for each child — one that will fit them and, hopefully, come in their favorite color. 😍
By sponsoring a child’s dream bike, or contributing toward the cost of one, you can help give a local child more than just a bicycle. You can help give them confidence, independence, fresh air, summer memories, and a little extra joy when they need it most.

Children must be present at the event to receive items. After completing your application, someone from Paying it Forward will contact you.
